Winter at the Patscherkofel

Where your holiday dreams come true!

Skiing, snowboarding, freeriding, tobogganing, winter hiking, cross-country skiing, walking or simply enjoying the sunshine at a rustic mountain hut – only Innsbruck and its holiday villages offer such a diverse range of winter experiences.

Patscherkofel ski area

Winter diversity

Patscherkofel (2,200m) is Igls' local mountain and its lower cable car terminus is a mere 180 metres from the hotel. Patscherkofel is an excellent ski area that offers a wide selection of pistes, ranging from Olympic-standard runs to family-friendly slopes, and provides plenty of challenges for both beginners and experienced skiers. Modern, comfortable lifts transport you to the slopes, and the snow cannon ensures that you can enjoy the best possible skiing conditions. There is also a sizeable nursery slope and ski tow adjacent to the lower terminus.

Ice skating

If you like ice skating, you'll love the outdoor ice rink at the foot of Mount Patscherkofel (500 metres from the Sporthotel IGLS). Ice skates can be hired at the rink. Olympiaworld Innsbruck is open to ice skaters in all weathers from early October to late March.

Tourist bobsleigh rides

The top highlight in winter is a ride on the artificial ice Olympic bobsleigh and luge run – this a safe but thrilling experience during which the bobsleigh is steered by an experienced pilot.

Horse-drawn sleigh ride

A romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride in the surrounding, snow-covered countryside offers much more tranquil options (around 2 hours).
