Golf
Igls has 2 golf courses of the Golf Club Innsbruck-Igls: - the 9-hole course Sperberegg in Lans - 2 km away – this course offers quiet, level though not-so-simple fairways for your pure enjoyment. - the 18-hole championship course in Rinn - 7 km away – a course to challenge every level of golfer, regardless of handicap. Hiking
Free mountain hiking programme from June to October!
Hikes with mountain guide of the Alpine School Innsbruck- hiking bus- tour book- rental of hiking equipment (hiking boots and rucksack)- hiking medal- participation free of charge - 40 different hiking routes independent of weather conditions lasting between 3 and 5 hours - Previous knowledge of mountaineering is not necessary – good physical fitness required - Suitable for children from the age of 8 and elderly people - outdoor clothing (hiking boots, anorak, rainwear) sun protection, food
Meeting point:Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 09.00 a.m., Tuesday at 09.30 and Friday at 08.30 at the Tourist Office Igls. No reservation necessary.
Always mondays/tuesdays – 8.00 p.m. departure at the Tourist Office Igls : Lantern hike romantic guided lantern-lit walk followed by a convivial get-together with music in the mountain inn „Heiligwasser“.(approx. 1 hour). Reservation required by 12.00 noon on Tuesday at the Tourist Office Igls.
Sunrise hike on Friday: Reservation required by 4.30 p.m. the previous day at the Alpine School Innsbruck – will be done also from our reception. Morning hike for early birds to the alpine pasture “Rangger Köpfl”, with impressive light effects and a breathtaking view of the city. Meeting point: 04.45 a.m. at the Tourist Office Igls.
Participation free of charge for all above mentioned hiking tours.
Climbing
Panorama Climbing path - Nordpark
This 3000 m long climbing path in the Nordkette mountain range at an altidude of 2.350 m leads over 7 summits and is secured with no less than 2000 m of wire cables, 700 hooks and 150 profiel pins. Enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the Stubai and Ötz valleys and even the Zillertal Alps. A unique adventure for experienced hikers and climbing fans alike.
Climbing garden Goldbichl Igls – 2 sections with a total of 13 climbing routes at all levels of difficulty.
Alpine Garden Patscherkofel
Highest botanical garden in Europe extending over an area of 2 hectares at an altitude of 2.000 m and boasting more than 400 different high-alpine plants. Open daily from 09.00 a.m. till 5.00 p.m. guided tours on request. Tropical greenhouses. Open Thursday and every 1st Sunday in the month , 1.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.
Rafting
Raftingtour Inn - gorge of Imst: Europe’s most popular rafting trail
After clothing and a security talk the trail begins through the worthwhile gorge of Imst. After a ride of approx. 2 hours you will be taken back by taxis. Length of the trail: 14,5 km. Best time: Mai till October. Precondition: swimmer.You have to bring with you: good mood, bathing clothes and a towel. Rate: from € 40,00 per person (incl. equipment hire)
Canyoning
Discover water at its most powerful. Rate: from € 80,00 per person (minimum 4 participants) Hotel transfer for visitors to Innsbruck and its holiday villages.
Tennis
The unique setting of the tennis courts at the Kurpark and the indoor courts has fast made Igls a centre of Tyrol’s tennis sport and a real tennis town. 9 outdoor courts are also flood-lighted for night time playing - 3 indoor sand courts and one indoor squash court. Situated only 5 minutes walking distance from the Sporthotel.
Mountain biking
The sunny terrace above Innsbruck is simply perfect for mountain biking. At the new mountainbike trail – start at the station of the Patscherkofel cable car (2 minutes away) you will have a circuit of 9,3 km and an altitude difference of roughly 300 m. A new trail leads from the Schutzhaus at the Patscherkofel to the peak.
Beachvolleyball
Situated only 5 minutes walking distance of the Sporthotel at the station of the Patscherkofel Cable car. For sure – an alternation playing beachvolleyball in the marvellous surroundings of our mountains.
Bungee jumping
Come and dare to make a free-fall jump from the 192 m high bridge “Europabrücke”. End of May till October always Saturday/Sunday. Price € 120,00 per person incl. t-shirt.
Riding
Riding arena Innsbruck-Igls
Riding for all abilities: beginners, trekking, dressage. Secured riding trails. – indoor arena with international dimensions 65 x 25 m. Helmet necessary, eventually riding boots. Rates: from € 20,00 per person. Tuesday till Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Swimming
At the lake „Lanser See“ – a small but pretty lake. Parking at the car park (chargeable). You will reach the see also with the tram nr. 6.
Minigolf
You will find a nice facility by Lanser See lake car park - only 2 km from the Sporthotel
High energy routes - Kneipp pools
3,5 km and 5 km running and walking circuits, with slight difference in altitude from Igls to Lans. Kneipp pools at the starting point of the route.
Summer Bobsledding
at the Olympic Bobsleigh run you will have the experience of an exciting run through the famous loop and the labyrinth at over 100 km/h. A special attraction - where you speed down in a bobsleigh steered by an experienced driver. Costs: € 25,00 per person incl. certificate and insurance. From End April till October - always Thursday and Friday 4.00 p.m. - 6.00 p.m..You must be over 14 years.
Special for kids
Children's programme May till October
Monday till Friday from 10.00 a.m. until noon and 1 p.m. until 5.00 p.m. Upon request children will be looked after during lunch time (12.00 a.m. till 1.00 p.m.) with meal included (children's meal with drink € 5,00)
Transfer from Igls to Natters at 09.00 a.m. -return approx. 5.15 p.m.
